A FOOTBALL tournament in aid of youngsters in Ukraine has raised more than £1,800.

Six teams took to the pitch at Hibernian Training Centre at East Mains, near Ormiston, last month to collect money for Dnipro Kids.

Hibernian podcast Longbangers emerged victorious over Hibernian Football Fans in Training (FFIT), Glasgow Titans, Rangers, Celtic and Prestonpans Hearts Social Club in the eight-a-side tournament.

A link was established between the Easter Road side and the Ukrainian city of Dnipropetrovsk in 2005.

Hibs drew the Ukrainian team in the UEFA Cup and a handful of supporters took a collection for orphans on the away leg.

A spokesman for the tournament was pleased to say the event raised £1,834.
