THE second round of the Genesis Scottish Open is well under way as thousands of fans are filling the galleries at the Renaissance Club.

Yesterday's (Thursday) action saw Cameron Tringale set a blistering pace by equalling the course record of 61 to sit on nine-under par after the first round.

He leads by three strokes from fellow American Gary Woodland, with South African Harding a shot further back on five-under.

Tringale will take to the course and 2.15pm with Woodland just ahead of him at 2.05pm.

It was a mixed day for the Scots in the field, with East Lothian's own Grant Forrest facing an uphill battle to make the cut after a disappointing four-over par 74.

Young Glaswegian Ewen Ferguson had a great day on the links however, shooting a brilliant three-under 67 to be the leading Briton in the field.

He tees off at 1.05pm alongside China's Haotong Li and Chile's Joaquin Niemann.

Russell Knox was the only other Scot under par with a solid 68, with the cut line looming for Robert MacIntyre, Marc Warren, Connor Syme, Stephen Gallacher and David Law.

A more overcast day is forecast with the wind picking up later on it is set up to be another thrilling day of action on Scotland's Golf Coast.
