VISITORS to historic Newhailes House & Gardens at Musselburgh can take a step back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
A fun day out for families, Jurassic Encounter offers the chance to get up close and personal with the undisputed king of the dinosaurs, the ferocious T. rex, walk in the shadows of the long-necked giants diplodocus and brontosaurus, and come face-to-face with snarling caged raptors.
The event runs on part of the National Trust for Scotland estate from now until next Sunday (July 17), 10am to 5pm.
Jurassic Encounter, an interactive installation of 50 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs from the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous periods, made its UK debut north of London at Cassiobury Park in April.
Visitors will recognise many of their favourite movie dinosaurs among the trees, bushes and woods. Each dinosaur has robotic moving body parts and jaws opening wide, with realistic roaring sound effects.
