IT’S almost time up for residents who want to recall the glory days of Port Seton’s open-air swimming pool as an exhibition on its history comes to a close soon.
The pondmaster at the old The Pond would say “time’s up bathers please” at the end of a session and now is nearing the last chance to learn more about The Pond and the Pond Hall.
The exhibition, at Port Seton Library, closes on Tuesday.
A spokesperson said: “I hope it has brought back a lot of great memories, spending your summer holidays down at The Pond from opening until closing.”
Visiting times are: Friday (10am-1pm, 2pm-5pm); Saturday (10am-1pm), Tuesday (10am-1pm, 2pm-5pm).
The Pond’s Olympic-standard pool opened in 1932 and the Pond Hall was the centre of the local social life.
They were closed in the mid-1990s.
