AN AWARD-WINNING florist is among the stallholders at Haddington Farmers’ Market this weekend.

Caroline Samuel, of Letham Plants, is fresh from her success at the Chelsea Flower Show.

She was awarded a Silver Gilt at the prestigious show last month for her specialist range of astrantias.

The award-winning flowers will be available at the market, which takes place on the town’s Court Street on Saturday.

This month, the focus is on barbecues, picnics and summer eating.

Local producer Ballencrieff Pork will have a range of sausages, chops, steaks and ribs – all suitable for barbecuing.

Venison burgers, sausages, beef steaks and smoked fish will also be available.

For picnics, summer entertaining and lighter meals, there are a number of vegetables and salads in season now.

East Linton’s Phantassie Organics will have broad beans, cauliflower, celery, courgettes, cucumber, kohlrabi, lettuce, mangetout, new potatoes, pak choi, peas, radishes and summer squash.

With a total of 25 stalls, visitors will find a diverse range of local and seasonal food, drinks, craft and gifts, while Haddington Pipe Band perform.

The market runs from 9am to 1pm.
