AN UNKNOWN graffiti artist has been vandalising various areas of Pencaitland after their distinctive tag appeared throughout the village.

The individual has been leaving their unique mark of ‘SEK’ on lampposts and council signage, as well as fences, bus stops and electrical boxes.

The graffiti is often seen in fluorescent colours such as pink and red, obstructing important information such as council advisory notices and warning signs.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in East Lothian have become aware of a number of incidents of graffiti tagging vandalism that are occurring in the Pencaitland area.

“Graffiti tags are distinctive and can usually be attributed to one individual.

“Please take this opportunity to look at the images and contact Police Scotland, quoting incident number 1348 of June 20, 2022, if you can assist police with their enquiries to identify the responsible individual.”
