A KAYAKER needed the help of the RNLI yesterday (Monday) after falling in the water off the coast of Dunbar.
The town’s inshore lifeboat (ILB) was launched at about 2.20pm after the kayaker got into difficulty near the old pool.
By the time the crew located him, the kayaker had managed to get onto rocks not far from The Glebe.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said: “He was able to get back onto his kayak and asked that the crew escort him back to the harbour, which the volunteers were happy to do.
“The kayaker was well equipped and did the right thing by calling for help.
“If you see anyone in trouble in or near the water, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
