STREETS across Prestonpans and Tranent will face disruption this weekend to allow for six Loyal Orange Institution of Scotland parades to take place.

Hundreds are expected to take part in the event, which marks the anniversary of the 1690 Battle of the Boyne, on Saturday.

The first parade of LOL 252 Enniskillen Purple Guards will feature around 70 to 80 marchers and one flute band.

The parade, which begins at 7.30am, will set off from Preston Athletic Carpark on North Grange Avenue to Polwarth Crescent via North Grange Avenue, West Loan, Preston Road, Polworth Terrace and onto Polworth Crescent.

The parade will collect the Worthy Master and move off at 8.45am and parade to Preston Lodge High School on Schaw Road via Polworth Crescent, Nimmo Avenue, Gardener Road, Preston Road and Schaw Road.

The second parade, of LOL135 John Know Memorial, will see approximately 40 marchers leave 32 North Bank Road at 8.30am and travel to Prestonpans Community Centre via North Bank Road, North Grange Avenue, West Loan and Preston Road.

Meanwhile, in Tranent, the parade of LOL184 Eastern Star will take 60 marchers from Muirpark Court at 7.30am to Fleets Grove via Muirpark Road, Ormiston Road, Carlaverock Avenue, Waterloo Road and Fleets Grove.

After collecting the Worthy Master, the parade will head off for the Loch Centre Car Park on Blawearie Road at 8.40am via Fleets Grove, Waterloo Road, Carlavarock Avenue, Ormiston Road and Blawearie Road.

The fourth parade, LOL228 Tranent True Blues, takes around 80 marchers from Blair Halls St Martins Lane at 8.30am to Ross Crescent via Haddington Road, Morrison Avenue and Ross Crescent.

After collecting the Worthy Master the parade will head off at 8.55am to the Loch Centre Car Park on Blawearie Road via Ross Crescent, Ormiston Road, Loch Road and Blawearie Road.

The fifth parade, District 44, kicks off at 9.30am from the Loch Centre Car Park with 250 marchers (140 marchers and four flute bands) heading to Wallace Place via Blawearie Road, Loch Road, Ormiston Road, High Street, Church Street and Elder Street.

After collecting the Worthy District Master the parade will head off at 10.05am and parade to the car park opposite the Brig Inn on Coal Neuk via Elder Street, Church Street and Bridge Street.

The final parade, District 44, will leave the west end of North Grange Avenue and Prestongrange Road at 4pm heading to Preston Lodge High School car park via, North Grange Avenue, West Loan, Preston Road and Schaw Road.
