IT was a winning day for world champion boxer Josh Taylor when he tied the knot with his long-term partner in a lavish ceremony at Kinmount House in Dumfries and Galloway over the weekend.

The undisputed boxing champion walked down the aisle with his childhood sweetheart Danielle Murphy on Saturday to say "I do" after 12 years together.

The Prestonpans pair, who now reside in Haddington, got engaged aboard a luxury boat in Dubai in December 2020.

Danielle donned a lace white dress, while new-husband Josh was dressed in a traditional Scottish kilt.

Among those in attendance were fellow boxers Conrad Cummings and former world champion Carl Frampton and Josh's good friend and sparring partner Lee McGregor.

Josh Taylor will face off with the WBC's mandatory challenger Jose Zepeda, with the schedule yet to be finalised.

Tomorrow night, Josh Taylor: Portrait of a Fighter, a documentary following the boxer's journey from the amateur ranks as a Commonwealth gold medallist to capture all four world championship belts is aired on BBC Scotland at 10pm.

The documentary follows the Scotsman as he prepares for his highly anticipated title defence against England’s Jack Catterall, exploring the sacrifices, pressures, passion and pride that go into reaching the top in sport’s most brutal business.
