A SECOND Greggs will open in Haddington next month – and looks set to be joined by petrol giants Shell.

Speculation about the potential businesses involved in the petrol station at Haddington Retail Park has been ongoing for a number of months.

Work is nearing completion, after Euro Garages had plans approved by East Lothian Council.

A spokesperson for Greggs, which already has a branch on Haddington’s Market Street, said: “Greggs is due to open a new franchise shop in Haddington next month, operated by our partner Euro Garages.

“We look forward to welcoming Greggs fans and new customers to come try our range of tasty bakes, hot drinks and sweet treats.”

Currently, it is unclear how many jobs will be created in the new store.

Petrol pumps featuring the Shell logo have also been installed, although the company failed to comment when approached by the Courier.

One unit remains empty at the retail park. It was revealed earlier this year that plans were under way for a possible pharmacy there.
