A RESCUE helicopter was called out last night following a report of an unspecified “activity causing concern” at Dunbar’s historic ruined castle.

Emergency services were alerted at about 9.30pm with volunteers on shore and in the water.

A spokesperson for Dunbar RNLI confirmed they could find no-one during the search and no-one was injured.

They said: “Shore crew volunteers assisted Coastguard teams from Dunbar, North Berwick, Fisherrow and Eyemouth.

“Fire crews from Dunbar and East Linton and a specialist rope unit from Edinburgh also attended, along with the police and the ambulance service’s Special Operations Response Team (SORT).

“The Coastguard helicopter arrived at 11.25pm and once the search was completed, the lifeboat was stood down at midnight.”
