A COUNTY business owner has been championed on social media by retail magnate and star of Dragon’s Den Theo Paphitis.

Rosie Creyke, owner of Rosemary Wild Fabrics in Gullane, was recognised by the TV entrepreneur when she posted on his Instagram for Small Business Sunday (SBS).

SBS is a campaign ran by Mr Paphitis every week to discover and feature independent ventures across the nation, giving them online exposure through his massive social media following.

Rosemary Wild Fabrics was selected by Mr Paphitis as one of his six weekly winners, delighting Rosie as her business was shared to Theo’s half-a-million Twitter followers and 30,000 Instagram followers.

She said: “Having started my online eco-friendly fabric store during the pandemic, it has been such a pleasure to send colourful bundles of fabric to customers for their crafting hobbies throughout the UK.

“Once lockdown finished, I’ve also been stocking my ranges of quality contemporary cotton from modern fabric studios in Whynot? on North Berwick High Street.

“I’ve just moved location in the shop but my stand has been revamped to provide half metres as well as fat quarters of fabric – and a new clearance section – so that I can share my fabrics with the local community.

“It is great to have support from Theo because every little bit helps in raising my profile.

“Theo has recognised my hard work and helped spread the word about what I do to his following.”

Theo Paphitis said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS retweet or repost from me becomes part of a friendly club: like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.

“The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Rosemary Wild Fabrics every success.”
