A BEACH clean takes place at Port Seton Promenade this weekend.
The Cockenzie and Port Seton Community Beach Clean group recently conducted a tidy-up of the harbour, discovering nine tyres dumped over the harbour wall.
A spokesperson said that, following close checking, the tyres did not appear to have come from fishing boats but instead were dumped by flytippers.
They added: “It was from someone trying to save a bob or two instead of disposing of them correctly.”
The next clean will take place this Saturday between 10am and 11am, with people of all ages welcome.
