A MUSIC school and rehearsal studio is celebrating its 10th birthday by throwing open its doors.

People can head along to Lamp House Music on Sunday and enjoy mini music lessons on a range of instruments.

The open day will also allow people to tour the premises, off Haddington’s Hospital Road.

Founders Roz and Callum Maguire were looking forward to welcoming people from noon to 3pm.

Roz said: “East Lothian’s music scene is richer and runs far deeper than we had realised, and once you start tapping into it you come to appreciate that the county is oozing with musical talent.

“It’s been an utter joy interacting with so many musicians – of all ages – over the last 10 years.

“We could never have anticipated the vast number of amazing people we would meet through Lamp House Music, and we look forward to celebrating with some of them, over a slice of birthday cake this weekend.”

Last month, the couple announced they were looking to move on from the business, with hopes it could continue under new owners.

Roz added: “We are delighted to be celebrating Lamp House Music’s 10th birthday – the business has been more successful than we ever dared dream.”
