OVERNIGHT roadworks will see a section of the A1 closed on Friday.
Work is being carried out on the westbound carriageway of the road between Dolphingstone and Wallyford between 7.30pm and 6am the following morning.
During the roadworks, which will see road markings renewed, traffic using the westbound A1 will be diverted from Dolphingstone Junction to Wallyford Junction via the A199 and the A6094.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s network manager for the south east, said: “A carriageway closure is necessary to allow us to renew these road markings safely, however we’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption and we’ll aim to get the job completed as quickly as possible.”
The work is weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
