A family-run business which staged part of the set for Brad Pitt's World War Z has provided equipment for a major superhero film currently being filmed in Glasgow.

East Lothian Shopfitters, based at Seton Mains, by Longniddry, was approached by production staff from Batgirl, starring Leslie Grace in the lead role, which is currently transforming Glasgow into Gotham City.

The family-run business, operating from 1986, is made up of three generations: Joseph, Craig and Michael O'Rourke.

The trio is no stranger to film sets, having provided sets for numerous blockbuster films and Amazon Prime productions.

Craig O'Rourke said: "We weren't actually sure what film it was for initially, but crew members came through to Longniddry and picked out items for some sort of warehouse stock room for Batgirl.

"They were buying clothes rails, racking, shelving and stuff like that."

Most recently, the team provided set equipment for the Amazon Prime TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman's fantasy novel Anansi Boys, which was filmed in Leith in December.

Additionally, set equipment for Navid's shop from the popular nine-season comedy show Still Game has been provided by shopfitters since the show began filming in 2002.

The team, who are one of the main suppliers of shopfittings in the UK, also supply set and equipment to supermarkets like Asda, STV, BBC Scotland, Edinburgh, Kinloch and Glasgow Airport and even Holyrood Palace.

They deliver to all main cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Newcastle and many more.

Craig added: "People involved with productions in the Scottish area tend to approach us because we've done Still Game from the very beginning.

"The first one of last year was the Indiana Jones film and at the end of the year Anansi Boys, which was a big production."

Filming for Batgirl is set to take place soon, with film crews moving into Glasgow today (January 13).
