AN annual North Berwick Santa Run was hailed a great success after 110 runners dressed as St Nick to raise £1,000 for Movement on the Ground.

For the fifth consecutive year, residents turned out in their numbers for the community event, with babies pushed in prams to an 80-year-old runner taking part – alongside a number of pet dogs.

The running event took place on December 19 at Elcho Green, with the first run commencing at 9.30am.

A 2K, 5K and 10K race took place.

The results of the run are as follows:

  • First female - 2k - Freya Brown - 6min 41 seconds
  • First male - 2k - Daneil Mosely - 6min 58 seconds
  • First female - 5k - Melisande Addison - 29min 29 seconds
  • First male - 5k - Charlie Pugh - 21min 46 seconds
  • First female - 10k - Victoria Reid - 43.04
  • First male - 10k - Andrew Fraser - 40min 39 second

All winners were gifted a 2022 calender with photographs taken by a local photographer.

Organisers Saartje Drijver and Cath Brookes thanked everyone who took part and helped out on the day.

All proceeds raised at the event will be donated to Movement On The Ground – an organisation that transforms refugee hotspots towards safe, healing, enabling and dignified environments from within.
