KIND-HEARTED members of a Tranent church handed over a brand new device to support non-verbal children to a high school last week.
The church group from St Martin’s Church, on High Street, donated a brand new Go Talk 20+ device to assist the learning and socialisation of non-verbal pupils in Ross High School’s additional support for learning provision.
The Go Talk 20+ is a lightweight and portable speech output device with 100-message capacity.
Jim Patterson and Craig Darling represented the church group when they handed over the device to staff and pupils from the school’s Blue Class.
Euan Dixon, teacher, was delighted to be able to receive the device on behalf of the school and said: “This is going to make a difference to the lives of a number of our pupils and we are really looking forward to personalising the device for individual pupil needs.
“We are really grateful to our friends at St Martin’s Church and cannot thank them enough for their kindness and support.”
