THE chairperson of North Berwick Community Council has said she is "gutted" by the theft of a post box topper she and a friend had crocheted.
Judy Lockhart-Hunter and friend Linda Digney "spent many hours" crocheting the Christmas-themed caps for post boxes on the town's Quality Street and St Baldred's Road.
But now, heartless thieves have made off with the bonny bonnet from the Quality Street post box.
Judy told the Courier: "I'm so gutted.
"Linda and I worked so hard on them to bring a bit of Christmas cheer.
"It's such a shame when one person or a small group spoils it for everyone else.
"We would really appreciate if it could be returned."
