A TRANENT man who carried out a series of offences against his former partner has been ordered to attend sessions with a domestic abuse organisation.

Darryl Wilson, 27, repeatedly attended at the woman’s home in Edinburgh uninvited and refused to leave.

Wilson also shouted and swore and made abusive comments towards the woman on various occasions over a 14-month period.

On one occasion, he also locked the woman in a vehicle before dragging her from the car and throwing her to the ground. Wilson then seized her by the body and pinned her against the vehicle.

A separate occasion saw the pair driving to Loch Lomond when Wilson, c/o HMP Edinburgh, stopped the vehicle and demanded she get out.

He then attempted to drive away without her and, after she was allowed back in the car, Wilson repeatedly seized the woman by the head and body and scratched her face, all to her injury.

The details of the campaign of abuse carried out against the woman between March last year and May this year were heard at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.

Sheriff Kenneth Campbell was told that Wilson spent several months on remand and agreed to release him from his period of custody.

The sheriff sentenced Wilson to be placed on a supervision order for the next three years and ordered him to complete 185 hours of unpaid work in the community. He was also told he must attend sessions with the domestic abuse organisation the Caledonian Men’s Programme.

Wilson admitted engaging in a course of conduct which was abusive towards his partner between March 14 last year and May 30 this year.
