SANTA Claus is coming to town next week – for one night only!

Santa and Mrs Claus will make a special visit to North Berwick on Thursday courtesy of the Bass Rock Community Group and North Berwick Beach Wheelchairs.

A magical sleigh will depart from North Berwick Sports Centre at 5.30pm and travel through the town spreading festive cheer, before finishing at North Berwick Harbour by the Beach Wheelchair Hut.

Details of the sleigh’s route can be found at beachwheelchairs.org/upcoming-event, on Facebook and Instagram or by using the QR code on posters around town.

From 6.45pm at the harbour, North Berwick Gospel Choir will entertain residents, while hot chocolate, mulled wine and homebaking will fill empty stomachs.

Santa and Mrs Claus are expected to arrive at the harbour by 7.35pm on their sleigh, loaned by Fight Against Cancer Edinburgh, which previously used one of the town’s beach wheelchairs in Lapland.

Richard Rogers, of the Bass Rock Community Group, said: “We wish to thank North Berwick Harbour Trust for all their help and East Lothian Yacht Club for the use of their accessible toilets for the duration of the evening.”

The family event is free for all, but cash donations will be welcomed and donated to North Berwick Beach Wheelchairs.

Covid regulations will be in place.

Anyone requiring special accessibility requirements should email info@beachwheelchairs.org
