A COCKENZIE motorist has been fined and had penalty points placed on his licence after admitting careless driving in Musselburgh.
Robert McKinney, 40, drove a vehicle without due care and attention by failing to pay proper attention to the roadway at the town’s Linkfield Road.
McKinney drove in an erratic manner and lost control of the vehicle on October 17 last year. His vehicle crossed into the opposite carriageway and collided with a fence, causing damage to it.
McKinney, of Whin Park, pleaded guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday. Sheriff Frank Crowe sentenced McKinney to pay a £290 fine and also placed five points on his driving licence.
