FRESH consideration could be given to a bench in memory of a popular Haddington businessman.

Dino Pacitti, who ran Dino’s takeaway on the town’s High Street, passed away suddenly in August 2016.

Hundreds gathered on the street a few days later, with town residents joined by about 150 bikers to pay their respects to the dad of two.

Haddington and District Community Council previously talked about the possibility of a bench on the street in memory of Mr Pacitti.

Chris McEwan, chairman of the community council, confirmed the group remained open to the idea.

He stressed that it would not lead any campaign for the bench but could assist with any documents and perhaps funding.
