A HIGH school breakfast cafe has received a £500 grant from Tesco Musselburgh.

Preston Lodge High School (PLHS)was awarded £500 by Tesco Community Grants to go towards its breakfast cafe, run by Jonathan Sharples from The Pennypit Trust.

Julie Lowe, PLHS head of development, said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for our project at the Tesco Musselburgh store.

“We continually need to raise funds to keep the breakfast cafe running, to ensure all our young people have access to a healthy, nutritious breakfast at the start of the school day.

“This funding will go towards the cost of breakfast supplies.”

The breakfast cafe is open from 8.10am every morning in the maths social space on the ground floor of the school and is free to all students.
