A MAN who shouted and swore at his former partner has been banned from having any contact with the woman.

Simon Livingstone arrived at the woman’s home in Edinburgh and began acting in an aggressive manner before kicking out at a door within the stairwell of her flat.

Livingstone, 33, was asked to leave the premises by the woman before a neighbour intervened asking him to calm down.

Livingstone turned his anger on the neighbour and also shouted and swore at her while lashing out at the internal door for a second time.

The police were alerted after he issued threats to kill his ex-partner and her mother.

Officers arrived soon after and spotted Livingstone continuing to kick the common stair door at about 1.40am on July 29.

Livingstone was in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to the offence from custody in July.

Sheriff John Cook had deferred sentence for three months for Livingstone to be of good behaviour.

The sheriff handed out a six-month non-harassment order banning Livingstone from having any contact with the woman.

Livingstone, of Windsor Park, Musselburgh, was also fined a total of £210.

The court had been told that Livingstone and the woman had been in a relationship for about six months prior to the incident.

The couple had argued that evening and Livingstone had left the home and drunk alcohol before returning.

Livingstone pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by repeatedly shouting, swearing, kicking a door and uttering threats of violence at Bailie Grove, Edinburgh, on July 29.
