‘WITCHES’ will take a dip at a North Berwick beach to raise money for the town’s lifeboat station and an Aberlady toddler receiving treatment for cancer.

The Wicked Witches of North Berwick will swoop onto the West Beach on Saturday at 1pm to raise funds for the RNLI North Berwick Lifeboat and Flora’s Fight Against Neuroblastoma.

They welcome residents and visitors to join them for a dip, swim or paddle in the sea, and ask that everyone puts on their finest fancy dress to celebrate Hallowe’en.

Last year, the witches raised £2,000 for Rett Syndrome, and they hope to raise a similar amount this year for their two chosen causes.

The Wicked Witches of North Berwick said: “Flora and her family have already had a gruelling journey so far but stay focused on each step and milestone Flora makes.

“Not only are they raising funds for Flora but their efforts are contributing towards better awareness, diagnosis and treatment of neuroblastoma.

“We will be joined by Flora’s grandmother on Saturday and hope the pictures of our spooktacular scene put a smile on Flora’s face.”

Flora’s parents said in a statement: “If you’re local to East Lothian, please join us at West Beach on Saturday to see the Wicked Witches of North Berwick brave the cold waves in aid of RNLI North Berwick Lifeboat and our Flora!

“Flora’s granny will be joining for a swim dressed as Peppa Pig, so make sure to give her a friendly wave if you see her!”
