A COUNTY thief has been placed on a drug treatment and testing order in a bid to curb his offending.
David Williamson, 30, was found in the curtilage of an address at Agnew Walk in Musselburgh with the intention of committing theft at the property on February 10 last year.
Williamson, of Old Course Gate, Musselburgh, also admitted committing a similar offence at Clark Avenue on the same date.
The thief admitted three offences, including breaching bail conditions, when he previously appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court
Sentence had been deferred for reports to be prepared and the offender was back in the dock last Friday.
Sheriff Peter Anderson ordered Williamson to be placed on the 12-month drug order and said he would be tested for illicit substances four times a month.
Sentence on the charge of breaching a bail curfew condition by being outwith his home between the hours of 7pm and 7am on August 4 and 5 was deferred to run alongside the drug treatment reviews.
