A MUSSELBURGH veterinary practice has said it is experiencing a small parvovirus outbreak in young dogs.
Symptoms include lethargy, lack of appetite, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Gordon Vets, which also has surgeries in Penicuik and Bonnyrigg, stated via its Facebook page that some of these dogs had had both their puppy vaccinations.
The practice said: “We suspect that this may be due to a high environmental burden of the virus locally that is managing to break through some dogs’ immunities.
"In response to this, we are offering a further parvovirus booster vaccination for all dogs aged four months to 10 months.”
Owners who would like their dog to receive the booster should email the surgery to make an appointment.
