PILING at a new town centre housing development in Musselburgh is set to restart tomorrow (Monday).

Developer Dundas Estates, which is building a £35 million, 140-home development on the site of the old Bruntons Wire Mill at Mall Avenue, said it hoped to have the piling work finished two weeks after the restart.

A company spokesperson said: “The piling works are an essential and unavoidable part of the Wireworks development which Dundas Estates will carry out as efficiently and sympathetically as possible.

"We are also continuing to work closely within Scottish Building Standards guidelines to minimise disruption.”

The development will include one, two and three-bedroom flats, of which 129 are for private sale and 11 are affordable housing.
