A BENCH will be placed beside a monument dedicated to the fishermen of Dunbar.
East Lothian Council has given the green light to Dunbar Harbour Trust, which manages the town’s harbours, to site the bench at the Fishermen’s Monument at Cromwell Harbour.
The monument, which is a Category-B listed structure, dates back to 1856 and was created by local benefactor William Brodie.
The local authority’s planning department approved the plans, which were backed by Dunbar Community Council.
