A NEIGHBOUR dispute ended with a Tranent man appearing in court to admit uttering homophobic abuse.
Pawel Mamrot, 40, became involved in an altercation with Albert Douglas and challenged the man to fight with him at the town’s Lindores Drive last summer.
Mamrot shouted and swore, and used homophobic terms during the incident.
Mamrot also admitted a second charge of uttering racially offensive remarks.
The Tranent resident appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty.
Sheriff Nigel Ross sentenced Mamrot to pay a total fine of £290.
Mamrot pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Lindores Drive on June 26 and 27 last year, as well as shouting and uttering racially offensive remarks at the same address on June 26 last year.
