Operation Close Pass aims to reduce the number of accidents caused by drivers not giving enough space to cyclists.
East Lothian Police has stressed the importance of giving cyclists enough space on the road.
Community officers from Haddington and Dunbar, in partnership with colleagues from road policing, ran the event on the B6471, West Road, aiming to identify drivers failing to give sufficient space when passing cyclists, passing in an inappropriate or dangerous location, following too closely, misusing cycle lanes or failing to observe advanced stop lines at traffic light controlled junctions.
During the initiative, 11 people were stopped and spoken to.
It was highlighted by police that the overall standard of driving was “very good”.
Police will hold more events over the coming months.
