A Tranent hair and beauty salon is seeking to move to new premises on a nearby street.
Nyree Cochrane has owned Nyree Cochrane Hair and Beauty on Ormiston Road for seven years.
She has applied to move to 12 Bridge Street, near its corner to High Street.
The Bridge Street shop has been empty for a couple of years, having formerly been a toy library, according to Miss Cochrane.
In documentation submitted alongside her application to East Lothian Council, Miss Cochrane said she was “a well-established business”.
The existing shop would be turned into a hair salon, with part of the rear shop turned into a beauty salon area.
