A TRANENT man has been jailed after he admitted challenging a man to fight with him while in possession of a razor.
David Moffat wanted to fight with Daniel Davie during a violent incident at the town’s Winton Place last year.
Moffat, of Steil Grove, shouted and swore and behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by challenging Mr Davie to a physical confrontation. Moffat was also carrying a razor during the incident on July 13 last year.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday.
Sheriff Adrian Fraser sentenced Moffat to four months in jail.
Co-accused Michelle Foy, 39, also from Tranent, denied two charges of possessing a glass bottle and to throwing the item at Mr Davie during the same incident.
Foy will return to court next month to face trial.
