DROP-IN Covid-19 vaccination clinics are going to be available in Tranent and Prestonpans later this week.
NHS Lothian’s mobile vaccine bus has been visiting various parts of the healthboard over the past week.
Being run in conjunction with the Scottish Ambulance Service, people are able to get their first or second dose of either the AstraZeneca or Moderna vaccine. Second doses can only be given more than eight weeks after someone has received their first dose.
The bus is at Bleachingfield in Dunbar today (Monday) and the car park of Musselburgh’s Tesco store tomorrow (Tuesday).
On Wednesday a pop up vaccination facility will be at the George Johnstone Centre on Winton Place in Tranent. Tranent Library will be closed as a result.
On Thursday the pop up facility will then be visiting Prestongrange Church Hall on Kirk Street.
Both the Tranent and Prestonpans’ clinics will be open 9.30am-12pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm. No appointments are needed.
The Pfizer vaccine will not be available.
The unit allows people over the age of 18 to get easy access to a coronavirus vaccine.
People do not need to be registered with a GP to attend a drop-in clinic with people seen on a first come first served basis.
The East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington is also one of NHS Lothian’s mass vaccination centres.
It will be open every day 8.30am-4pm for drop-in appointments.
