FOUR-TIME Major winner Rory McIlroy was left stunned at the Scottish Open today (Friday) after a spectator picked up one of his clubs for a practice swing.

McIlroy, among a series of global stars playing in the tournament at The Renaissance Club, appeared to be standing at the 10th tee when the unusual incident happened.

Footage captured on social media shows McIlroy standing alongside world number one Jon Rahm when the man walks onto the course.

The man removes the headcover from the club before then taking the club from the bag and walking off.

It is understood the man was then ejected from the course.
