A MAN has been arrested in Tranent after being found in possession of stolen alcohol.

On June 17, the 35-year-old was arrested by officers from the East Lothian Community Action Team after being found in possession of five bottle of vodka, which he took from the Tesco store in Haddington.

He was subsequently charged with three counts of theft by shoplifting and was wanted on a number of apprehension warrants.

Two of the shoplifing incidents include the stolen vodka and electrical items from the Aldi store in Tranent.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
