A TEAM from a legal and property company in North Berwick took their love for the town one step further and did their bit to keep it clean.

Gilson Gray, based on Westgate, took part in a beach clean as part of Caledonian Horticulture’s ‘The Big Beach Clean’.

The Gilson Gray team removed several bags of litter from both East and West Beach.

Led by Gilson Gray partner Dorothy Kellas and her dog Mylo, a Cavapoo (a cross between a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and a poodle), staff and family members also lent their support.

Gilson Gray offered to sponsor the initiative, organised by Caledonian Horticulture and other local businesses.

Dorothy said: “The East Lothian community is very close to our hearts and we wanted to do something practical over and above our sponsorship of the event – so we got our team of volunteers together.

“Everyone felt a real sense of accomplishment when we realised how much litter had been collected. We would like to congratulate the organisers and everyone else who turned up to help clean up our beautiful coastline.

“We have already earned ‘green tick’ accreditation for our efforts to be more sustainable, and supporting the Big Beach Clean seemed like a natural extension of our commitment to the environment.”

Tommy Dale, founder of Caledonian Horticulture, said: “We are absolutely delighted that so many people turned out in force to support the Big Beach Clean to help make our local coastline litter-free.”
