A FUNDING boost of £500 by housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has made a big splash with local swimmers.

Debbie Lawson, vice president and fundraiser for Musselburgh Amateur Swimming Club, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.

“Our club is experiencing an increase in general running costs as a direct impact of the pandemic, as well as enhanced cleaning costs.

“We felt that it was hugely unfair to pass these exceptional costs to members so we have already put Taylor Wimpey’s donation to good use.

"This is an incredibly challenging time for everyone but we would be keen to hear from other local businesses who may wish to provide support.”

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Musselburgh Amateur Swimming Club in this way and we hope that new swimmers and more donations will be forthcoming for this popular local club.

“Being able to work with local businesses and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us and it’s great to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in local communities.”
