AN East Linton man has been fined and ordered to stay away from a woman following a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Jamie Brading had denied an allegation of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards the woman and to forcibly taking a number plate from a vehicle and throwing it.
The 27-year-old stood trial in front of Sheriff Peter McCormack where the court heard the incident took place on the village’s Walker Terrace on March 7 this year.
Following all the evidence being heard, Brading was found guilty of the offence by the sheriff.
Brading, of Walker Terrace, was told he must pay a total fine of £520 and ordered to stay away from the woman after being issued with a two-year non-harassment order.
Brading was found guilty of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by acting in an aggressive manner and forcibly removing a rear number plate from a vehicle and throwing the number plate at Walker Terrace, East Linton, on March 7 this year.
