TREE planting has helped breathe new life into a community garden in Tranent.
The planting was completed last Friday by Regenerate Tranent, a group which promotes and shares activities and news focused on improving Tranent and its town centre.
The trees were planted at The Heugh community garden, which aims to develop an old, unused gasworks site into a community growing garden for the local area.
A variety of trees were planted such as rowan and silver birch.
Volunteers then enjoyed some nettle soup.
On May 14, some of Regenerate Tranent’s younger members also completed some weeding at the garden, as well as woodchip spreading.
Children also learned how to light a fire and use tools to whittle wood, later enjoying some marshmallows.
