THERE will be increased patrols by community wardens in Tranent town centre following anti-social behaviour complaints.
At a meeting of Tranent and Elphinstone Community council, ward councillor Colin McGinn told members that the council wardens would be out monitoring High Street.
The increased patrols are taking place due to the behaviour of some youngsters in the area during lunchtimes and the increased number of anti-social behaviour complaints and community concerns as a result.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said that one warden patrolled the town twice last week and that would be repeated this week, adding: “The warden’s visible presence aims to prevent low-level anti-social behaviour and littering.”
