enjoyleisure has said it will be continuingly monitoring all fitness classes on a regular basis and modifying and adapting the timetable in line with demand.

Bill Axon, enjoyleisure chief executive, said: “Tuesday’s Scottish Government announcement confirming a move to Level 2 from Monday (May 17), is brilliant news for our many customers who attend coached classes and is greatly welcomed by everyone at enjoyleisure.

"The resumption of group exercise; albeit socially distanced, is a massive boost to our customers and coaches alike; who like many others have been furloughed since Boxing Day.

"enjoy’s fitness coaches are eager to return, and we can’t wait to have our halls and studios buzzing with excitement as adults of all ages return for their endorphin releasing boost!

"The benefits of group exercise go way beyond the physical elements too. enjoyleisure’s fitness classes are social affairs. Friendships are created out of shared interests, motivation levels are enhanced by engaging instructors.

"For many, it’s an opportunity for quality 'me time'; to energise, relax or de-stress. For some people it’s an opportunity for ‘real life’ contact (as opposed to virtual) with other people.

"It’s important, and maybe even more so with it being Mental Health Awareness week, to recognise the positive social, mental and wellbeing aspects that come from ‘enjoying’ being part of group fitness activities.  It’s a win, win for everyone!”
