A ROAD closure resulted in police visiting Garvald after concerns about speeding vehicles.
A section of the B6370, which links Gifford and Stenton, had been closed with East Lothian Council carrying out repairs to stop the road from flooding.
In the meantime, residents of the rural village have noticed an increase in the number of cars visiting the area.
Police visited Garvald last Friday and plan to return to monitor speeding in the village.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “As a result, along with a speed check, the ‘pop-up police’ were deployed for a few hours on Friday in the village.
“Drivers are reminded that they should be aware of their surroundings, and drive accordingly. Further checks will be carried out in the village.”
