A SECOND fire in less than a week broke out in a woodland area of Dunfermline on Wednesday evening.
A fire crew raced to an area near to Duloch Primary School at 7.20pm after smoke and flames could be seen billowing from amid the trees.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.20pm on Wednesday, May 5, to a fire in the open at Duloch Woods, Nightingale Place, Dunfermline.
“One appliance attended the scene and firefighters extinguished a gorse fire which covered an area of approximately 5m x 5m.
“Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe and there were no reported casualties.”
The incident comes after two boys, aged 13 and 14, were arrested after a separate fire broke out in the woods last Friday (April 30).
A report was due to be sent to the youth justice management team.
