THE cafe and hairdresser at the Hollies Day Centre in Musselburgh are set to reopen from Monday, as Covid-19 restrictions ease.

Initially, the facilities will be open for three days, with the hairdresser open from 9.30am to 3pm and the cafe opening its doors at 10am.

The week after, they will open five days a week, at the same time.

Liz Shannon, day centre manager, said: “The conditions are the same as before – entry is through the black gate on High Street. We have ‘track and trace’ at the door as well as sanitiser. There have been changes put in place by the Government regarding track and trace so every individual must be signed in. They should remember to have their phone number to hand.

“All customers must wear a face covering until they sit at a table. Customers will leave by the front door, as before.

“Customers for the hairdresser must use the chair lift in order to reduce the amount of sanitising to the building, for example the banister.

“The cafe will be selling the usual menu, plus dinners.”

Liz said they were looking forward to reopening the centre’s lunch club but added: “We are unable to open this until Government guidelines allow us to operate our bus.

“We hope this will happen in the summer as we can’t wait to see all our members again.”
