A GIANT hole has appeared on a street beside Dunbar’s East Beach.
Sinkholes have appeared on the town’s Lamer Street in recent years, with the latest highlighted by the town’s community council.
A spokeswoman for the group said: “Recent heavy seas have caused a further undercutting and breach of the sea wall defences at Lamer Street.
“This time, a sinkhole has appeared near Coastguard Cottages.
“AG Thompson have been on site to do emergency repairs – pumping cement into the void.
“Members of Dunbar Shore and Harbour Neighbourhood Group/East Beach Regeneration Group/Dunbar Community Council will be meeting with East Lothian Council officers to discuss a longer-term masterplan and actions to improve the sea wall defences in the area.”
