A PORT Seton man has been given a jail sentence after he was found guilty of breaching court orders on two occasions.
Gordon Shields, of Wemyss House, was placed on bail at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on March 20 last year with the condition not to contact or approach his former partner.
Shields was also given similar instructions not to contact the woman when he appeared at court on October 26 last year.
But the 37-year-old breached the two orders when he approached his former partner on Edinburgh Road, Cockenzie, on March 11 this year.
Sheriff Ross found him guilty following a short trial last week and sentenced him to serve two months in custody, backdated to March 12.
The sheriff decided not to impose a non-harassment order after hearing submissions on Shields’ behalf.
