A MAN conducted a campaign of harassment against his former partner and threatened to post intimate photos of her on the internet.

Warren Fisher, of Musselburgh, engaged in abusive behaviour over a six-month period that saw him break into the woman’s home and search the property, believing she was with another man.

Fisher also threatened to post intimate images of the woman on the internet and threatened her with violence during the period of controlling behaviour.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told that Fisher and the woman had previously been in a relationship.

The court heard that on one occasion soon after their break-up, the woman had been on a night out socialising with friends in August last year and Fisher had repeatedly attempted to contact her throughout the evening.

She arrived back at her home late at night and had locked the front door and all the windows were closed.

The woman was then shocked to see a window at her home open and 26-year-old Fisher climb into the property.

He demanded to know “where she had been and who she had been with” before he conducted a search of the home, looking for “another male”.

The court was told that Fisher had made about 150 calls to the woman that evening.

Fisher also threatened his former partner that he would distribute intimate images of her on the internet during his abusive course of behaviour.

Another incident saw Fisher drive a car at speed towards the woman’s vehicle, causing her to perform an emergency stop to avoid a collision.

Fisher admitted the offences, committed between August 19 last year and February 13 this year, when he appeared at the Capital’s sheriff court via a video link from the city’s HMP Edinburgh last Thursday.

The incidents took place in a street in Tranent and at Beach Lane and Bush Street in Musselburgh.

Sheriff Nigel Ross released Fisher on bail and deferred sentence for reports to be prepared to May 6.
