A TRANENT man who breached a non-harassment order by contacting his former partner has been placed on a supervision order.

William Peacock will also be electronically tagged and will have to stay within his home at Caesar Road between 8pm and 6am for the next 100 days, a sheriff has ruled at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

The sentence was handed down by Sheriff Chris Dickson when Peacock appeared from custody at the court last Thursday.

The 32-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to breaching the court order by contacting the woman at Monkmains Road in Haddington on March 16.

The non-harassment order had been imposed on Peacock on October 22, 2019, in relation to a separate incident.

Sheriff Dickson heard that Peacock had breached the order previously but was content not to jail him after being told he had secured his first tenancy in 10 years and he was now receiving support from a mental health team.

A review into the order will be held in July.
